Your Questions About Indoor Spas Pools

Donald asks…
How can I convince my mom to let me go on my High School’s ski trip?
My teacher Mrs.Less announced that our high school would be having a ski trip, like last year. I didn’t go last year, and I really want to go this year. But I don’t plan on skiing. And my mom says that that’s a waste of money and I’ll just be stuck inside.
Not true. There are two different deals. Skiing, and non skiing.
Skiing: $145
Non:$100
The resort also has a 10 lane bowling alley, spa, movie theater, indoor pool, and gym. So I wont be stuck inside doing NOTHING. Plus, Id go outside and have snowball fights with my friends. Who really want to go and probably are. Two of my teachers are going as chaperons, and two parents that my mom likes are as well.
The package without skiing includes lunch at the resort, lodging at the resort, and I think something else. The trip is 3 days. we’ll leave on Sunday and come back Tuesday, and its in West Virgina, we live in North Carolina. My mom also says that even though the price is cheap {$100}, I’d still have to buy the right clothes.Like turtle necks, gloves, sweaters, jacket, and ski pants so my jeans wont get wet from the snow and I get sick, and the right shoes. Plus, extra money for lunch and dinner on Sunday and Tuesday, cause the lodge will only give us free lunch on Monday{I don’t plan on eating dinner, just lunch, and not that much anyways}.
How can I convince my mom to let me go?
And she cant come to chaperon either. Shes a teacher at my school and can only miss so many days, which shes maxed out, so she cant get off for those two days and go.thanks!
side note—- whose ever gone to a ski resort like this, what kind of clothes and shoes should I get? I have no snow stuff what so ever! I go out in the snow when ever it does snow wearing jeans, a thermal and a hoodie! also, were we’ll be staying, the girls will stay in one lodge and the guys in another. and for clothes, I have scarfs, and thermals from Areo, but nothing thats built for snow like that

My little sister’s having a 13th birthday party next winter. A sleepover at a hotel. So we were wondering if there’s such a hotel that…
1. Is kid friendly
2. Is no extra fee for extra people in sleeping bags
3. Has an indoor pool
4. Has a spa(Optional)
5. Has a fitness center(Optional)
6. Has in-room pizza delivery(Optional)
7. Has Room Service
8. Has a Suite or connected rooms for less than $500
9. Is somewhere in South Jersey or Philidelphia
Thanks in advance!

You don’t want much do you?
Most major hotels probably are kids friendly and have an indoor pool, a spa, and a fitness center and definitely room service.
BUT….. You also restricted to a location.
– Then you want a suite or connected rooms for less than $500,
then – you want in-room pizza delivery
and then….”no extra fee for ”
all this for a 13 year old?
I don’t think you are going to get it.
Especially more so with the “extra people in sleeping bags”. A major hotel that have all the you require above won’t let a lot of people staying in a room like that. There is a law on Room Occupancy. It allows only certain number of people to occupy a room it was designed for. There is also the matter of fire safety and the hotel won’t likely allow that many people in a room – especially kids on their own.

Does anyone know of a really good health club/spa in S. Wales area?
I’m looking for something with log fires, heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, manicure, massage etc. with nice gardens too. 5 star. Preferably within easy access of the M4. For my Mum who is not well so can’t travel more than an hour or two. Any reccomendations much appreciated.
Many thanks Whipass and Nanny too, I have mailed you back : – )

How much does it cost to build a luxury resort?
I’m in grade 10 and as our business major assessment we were asked to build a luxury resort and determine the price, place, promotion and product. we’re supposed to make a professional presentation and maybe even build a model and explain how we’re gonna build it and the budget and everything. We decided what’s gonna be in the resort but how much does it cost to build the resort? i mean, considering everything’s that’s in it… we have 6 tennis courts, a 500 acre golf court, spas, 15 restaurants, outdoor and indoor swimming pools… the hotel has 4000 rooms. how much does all that cost?!

spafanatic answers:
Start with the ‘raw land’; determine how many acres you’re going to need (you may want to get a big poster board and grid it out; maybe 1 sq. Acre = 1 sq. Inch of the poster board). Then you want to draw in everything you want the resort to have. Start with the must-have’s and then, if you have room and $$$, and in the nice to have’s.
You will need an architect (facility, electrical, plumbing) to create the plans and help walk you through the permitting. You will need a general contractor who will tell you how much each phase will cost, manage sub-contractors and get through permitting process. You will need a construction loan from the bank, they will want itemized costs of each phase of development.
To get to the cost, start with the land purchase (depending on how many acres you need and price/acre). Then itemize the must-have’s; Hotel = x, Swimming pool = y, Restaurant = z, etc. After that price in the nice-to-have’s. The more detail the better.
Good luck.
